史丹佛大学 - Stanford University

其实这张是临别秋波（12.55pm），要上车时才拍的。



史丹佛大学位于三藩市（San Francisco）和圣荷西（San Jose）之间。
创办人Leland and Jane Stanford 为了纪念当年在意大利旅行时，患上了伤寒症（Typhoid Fever）而英年早逝的儿子Leland Jr.（15岁）建立的。

当时史丹佛先生还邀请了费德立（Frederick Law Olmsted,）当时设计纽约中央公园的著名园艺建筑师 （ Landscape Architect ）来承接设计图。 经过了漫长的6年策划和建筑工程，史丹佛大学终于在1891年10月1日开课。当时的男女学生只有559名。

现在作为一间名校，每年会迎接150，000为旅客。作为游客的我，虽然无缘在这间大学就读，只花了差不多50分钟的时间，走马看花的才拍了43张的照片就离开。不，可以说比走马看花更快一点，我用跑的。我们是12.15pm 抵达史丹佛。

当我还在考虑要怎样构图时，妹夫和妹妹他们已经离我远去了，我唯有在后面穷追 ！每个人到史丹佛大学的照片大概是大同小异的吧。

生平第一次看到报纸贩卖机，所以才大惊小怪。

喜欢看报纸的我就很喜欢这机器，因为不用等报贩开档才有报纸买。






为了庆祝大学的50周年纪念，就在1941年，建筑了这座Hoover Tower，塔高86.86米 （285尺），它的了望台建在14楼。

在大堂内有美国第31任总统赫伯特·胡佛（Herbert Hoover）和太太 Lou Henry Hoover有关的展览, 因为他们俩都是史丹佛的学生。

Sausalito 的游艇 - Yachts of Sausalito

失败的构图 : 海天一半。

在Flickr 里看到别人晦暗的照片，觉得很喜欢。

突然想到自己也有几晦暗且蒙查查的旧照片。

曾在美国Walmart买了从架子上摘下来的Kodak相机，在Sausalito 拍了好几张游艇和海景的照片。

今天心血来潮，再用Canon 照相机重新拍过，就是这般模样了。

很多停泊在码头的游艇。

Gilroy 山水 - The Landscapes of Gilroy

Gilroy 是位于 SantaClara 县最南部的地方。

Gilroy 最出名的东西就是它的大蒜，它还有“世界大蒜之都”的美誉呢，而且这里每年还举行“大蒜节”(Gilroy Garlic Festival) 。

他们还有大蒜冰淇淋( garlic ice cream) ，

我很难想象那到那底是什么味道？

妹夫知道我喜欢摄影。在离开 Gilroy 时，他兜兜转转的来到了这个有山有水的地方，他对我说：你就下去拍两张照片好了，因为那时大概是 8.00pm 左右（天怎么还是那么亮啊 ？），在车里的大大小小还没吃晚餐，所以我匆匆按下快门，结果就只是这两张照片了。 我对路旁的田园小舍（cottage）也有兴趣。但是又不敢开口叫他们停车让我拍照。

到目前为止，我也不知道这是啥地方？

对喜欢shopping 的人来说，Gilroy 就是他们的购物天堂。因为这里有一系列的品牌商店（Gilroy Premium Outlet ）。

每当有访客到来，妹夫和妹妹都会带他们去Gilroy，当然我也不例外。但是，到后来，是妹妹拼命的买，我却是一件也没买上。

山景城 （Mountain View ）是位于美国加州圣塔克拉拉县（Santa Clara County），它也是美国第一座完全覆盖免费无线网的城市。 Google 的总部就设在这里。

九曲花街，三藩市 - Lombart Street，San Francisco

九曲花街被美誉为“世界上最弯的街道”，东西方向，单向行驶 。它一共有八个急弯，为了要减低汽车行驶时的冲力，行驶速度为8km/h （5mph）而且路面铺上砖块来增加摩擦力，以确保司机的安全。

Lombart Street is crowned " The Crookedest Street in the World" .It is an east-west ,one-way street. It has 8 hairpin turns.The speed limit is 5 mph (8km/h). The Powell-Hyde cable car line stops at the top of this block.

Powell Hyde 的缆车站也以这路的最上端为终点。过了这条马路，再走下去，就是下面这张照片。 ( After crossing this road , that's the view you can see here ).

Stevens Creek County Park 休闲公园

Stevens Creek County Park 是位于加州的 Cupertino 镇 ，在1924年建成。它也是Santa Barbara County Park 里历史最悠久的一个休闲公园。它的面积占1077 英亩（acres）,那里有一个 92 英亩的蓄水池。

有山有水的大自然 , 当然是人们观鸟, 垂钓，野餐和远足的好地方。Stevens Creek County Park 的开放时间是在早上8.00到太阳下山。

Stevens Creek County Park is located at Cupertino, CA . It was established in 1924. It is also the oldest of Santa Clara County Parks. It is 1077 acres including a 92 acres resevoir.

This recreational resources , of course , is the nature lovers' paradise for bird watching , fishing , picnicking and hiking. The opening hour for the park is at 8.00 a.m. until sunset.

当我们到达 Stevens Creek County Park 的时候，已经是中午时分，头上顶着个大太阳，皮肤被灼得热烘烘地。 因此，我们只逗留了一阵子就离开了。

By the time we reached Stevens Creek County Park , it was noon. The place is too hot for us to stay longer . So , we just stayed there for a short while and left .

Sunnyvale 的花圃 - Sunnyvale 's Nursery

妹妹的庭院种满了玫瑰，她也喜欢常常逛花圃。那天，阳光普照，我也跟了她去了这间坐落在 Sunnyvale 的Summer Winds 花圃 。

在花圃的入口处，有很多我不认识的花儿，有蓝色，紫色，也有粉红色，煞是好看！

My sister grows a lot of roses in her garden. She always buys flowers from the nursery , too . One fine day , I followed her to Summer Winds Nursery , Sunnyvale.

Once arrived at the nursery , a lot of flowers which are blue , purple and pink in colour, growing by the entrance of the nursery. It was beautiful !

加州，半月湾 - Half Moon Bay, CA

Princeton-by-the-sea

在美国的几天，南上北下的去了几个地方。这一回，我们来到了半月湾（Half Moon Bay) . 半月湾是在三藩市40 km ( 25 miles , south of San Francisco ) 以南的地方。它是以农业 (Agriculture )（尤其是有机农产品, organic produce ），渔业 ( Fishing )和旅游业 ( Tourism ) 为主。

我们去的时候，老天没有一幅好脸色的样子，脸色阴沉沉，而且气温还蛮寒冷的。可能我不习惯那里的天气，把自己裹得像个粽子般。

Miramar Beach

Michael Powers 是位摄影师(photographer ) , 雕刻家(sculptor) 和冒险家（adventurer)。

在1970 年，他为了雕刻艺术，曾经将一条约20尺长(foot-long)，3000磅重( pound )的巨型红木树桐（Huge Redwood Log ) 用船运到　Half Moon Bay 的 Miramar Beach.　他靠机械和其他同行艺术朋友的帮忙，千辛万苦的才将巨型树桐拖到家园。此举让很多人都啧啧称奇。
