竹是“禾本科”(学名: Poaceae)的一个分支“竹亞科”(Bambusoideae)的总称。
竹子是多年生植物。他们的生长高度神速,一天可以长高60cm(24 inches)。
竹子四季常青,在中国是长寿的象征。
中国早在明朝时就有人用竹炭来烧东西。竹炭是将一些五年以上的竹子,在摄氏800度的高温下烧成的竹炭。现代人却利用它来吸收室内的湿气。竹子在天气干燥时就释放湿气。竹子纤维(Bamboo Fibre)毛巾很柔软,吸水性强,因为它不生霉菌(anti -bacteria和anti funga),所以也比较卫生。

我们华人选吃竹筍。在我国的马来民族用竹子在“拉马丹”月( Ramadhan,回历九月),就将糯米,椰浆和盐放在竹子里,在炭火上烧,这种叫“竹筒饭”(马来西亚语言就称为Lemang ),配上咖哩, 就成为我国个民族都喜欢的食物。

看到竹,就想起竹炭面包,黑黑的,怪怪的,味道也没有什么特别,不懂得欣赏。

ReplyDelete竹炭面包! I ate before! It's nice hehe very black! But then, if you close your eyes to eat it, it just tastes like normal white bread. lol
eunice : I just got to know that there is "bamboo sponge" for facial use. Your statement about the 竹炭面包taste makes me laugh !
