今日糖水 - Today's " Tong Shui "

今天就以这Ice Kacang ,红豆冰打头阵吧 。
这红豆冰里有红豆、煎堆 Cendol、玉米、凉粉和花生.......。
这间叫All Inn Cafe 的小食店,坐落于怡保旧街场( Ipoh Old Town),那天到二奶巷的高记饭店吃饭后,我们来这里试试它的糖水。
艳阳高照,饭后喝一碗冰冷甜蜜蜜的糖水,啊,你可能也会说人生也不过如此。

椰糖(Gula Melaka)雪山就要溶解了 !

其实它也是红豆冰,只不过你可以跟店小二说,你的红豆冰要淋上椰糖浆,不要红糖浆。

甜蜜的糖水,就是在这里准备的。外劳都会说简单的广东话,就是“你要喝什么?”,“几杯?”之类的对话。

除了喝糖水,这里还有面食 :

河喜(怡保一种很细滑的河粉)。咖哩粉(配料有叉烧、 烧肉、鸡丝,蛤蜊(xihum) 。虾面,鸡丝粉,干咖哩鸡面,猪肚粉,海鲜粉,肉碎客家面和Assam Laksa 。

糖水实在是太多太多了,所以才会让你眼花缭乱,举棋不定,三心两意而无从下手要喝那一种糖水 ?

糖水很甜,要等冰块溶解后才没那么甜,所以你看到很多冰,也不要太惊奇。(因我自己曾经很惊讶为啥他们会给那么多冰块。)

    I like this series of photos! The food shots are definitely nice. #3 is a good capture! Though I have to say, slow shutter speed does affect(not in a good way) the #1 & #2 shots.

  3. Colin : I am glad that you like this series , and also 望梅止渴 。

    You can make ice kacang at TeXas too. Use a hammer to hit the ice cubes until tiny pieces and add those ice kacang ingredients !

  5. Sonia : When you are in HK , you just drink the 冻柠乐or 冻柠蜜 . So , you want to compare which ice kacang taste better ?

  6. I still think Ipoh food is the best! Even the desserts r nice! Somehow the ice kacang has roasted peanuts and that gives the nice taste. I always order ABC when in Ipoh.

    外劳都会说简单的广东话,就是“你要喝什么? -- yeah! these foreign waiters/waitresses at coffee shops can really speak a few dialects! It sets me thinking when they learnt to speak so well. Kudos!

  7. eunice : Ipoh's have variety food choices and the taste is not bad too .

    Ipoh , Penang and Singapore ice kacang are totally filled with different ingredients.

  8. only the tong sui ok, i felt. sometimes too sweet, but still worthy.
    esp the honeydew sago.
    the food cannot lah. ... the econ rice sucks, and the nasi lemak uses white rice. without prior warning.

  9. J2Kfm : I think the tongshui is too sweet ! I wonder whether they know the proportion of the sugar , water and ice in order to make a good tong shui !

    Since the food there is no good , I will never taste them ! Takutlah !
