The Custard Apple

.
.

.
These photos were captured outside JL's house.
"Custard-apple" is another name for "sugar apple"
The other names for the chinese translation are “Buddha head fruit” , "Siddhattha fruit" and " ant fruit". As you can see from these photos , there are really a lot of ants around the fruit. ( Time : in the evening)

.
Since the appearance of the custard apple looked like the Buddha' head hence the Taiwanese like to call this fruit " Siddhattha fruit".

.
.
.
The leaves also provide ingredients used to make dyes, stains ,inks , tattoos and mordants. The leaves are believed to have healing properties and have been used against tumour and cancer.( from Wiki).

.
The following photos were taken from elsewhere. It was in the afternoon so the lighting and exposure of the photos are different.

If you want to grow this tres ,you bette grown inside your house because it is too tempting and a lot of people like to pluck it without your permission ! JL 's custard apples are always stolen !

Colin : Don't you have custard apple in Texas ?
    Thanks for the compliment !

I still have thousands of photos to stand-by ( exaggerate ! )

  16. Somewhere in Singapore : I did't see any custard apple sold in Singapore's supermarkets like NTUC or Cold Storage . So , I think you seldom get to eat this .

  18. Custard Apple. We call it 'Angmo Laichi' in kampung.

  19. Horlic : You are right ,番=angmo ,laichi =荔枝。
